Compact, dependable, powerful:
New ERC crusher revolutionizes material processing in both underground and surface operations.

The newly developed eccentric roll crusher (ERC) from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is the new benchmark in crushing hard rock and ore. The unique technology combines a particularly flat and compact design with high throughputs of up to 8,000 metric tons per hour. Suitable for use both underground and in surface operations or as the centerpiece of a mobile system, the ERC offers significantly higher efficiency and flexibility than conventional primary crushers in the processing of hard rock.

The ERC is a completely new crusher type that effectively combines many advantages in one machine: Its height is 20 to 55 percent lower than that of conventional primary crushers for hard rock. This greatly simplifies transportation, installation and maintenance, including underground, and saves costs. Despite its low height, the ERC achieves significantly higher throughputs than conventional crushers. The new series currently includes four models with capacities between 600 and 8,000 tons per hour.

“With the new ERC we have developed a technology that is the first of its kind. Its innovative design combines the advantages of conventional primary crushers with solutions to their typical disadvantages, such as large height. As a result the ERC can be used in underground and surface mining operations and in quarries to process ore and hard rock more effectively.”

The new design with a roll mounted eccentrically between the screening and crushing chambers and the large, constant stroke of the crusher allow a very high degree of reduction. The integrated screen further increases the efficiency of the machine. Fines are not guided through the crushing chamber but discharged directly to reduce energy consumption and minimize wear to the crusher elements. An automatic crusher gap adjustment system prevents overload.

The ERC is suitable for a wide range of applications: With its unique kinematics and innovative screening-crushing chamber design the ERC reduces hard rock and ore particularly efficiently and economically in underground operations and also helps to improve cost efficiency in surface operations. The symmetrical arrangement of the roll also means the crusher can be balanced with high precision. This greatly reduces machine vibrations and the loads on the surrounding structures, which is a big advantage over other primary crushers. As a low-vibration machine the ERC is also ideal for use in mobile and semi-mobile crushing systems.

The bottom line: The newly developed eccentric roll crusher (ERC) offers greater efficiency in processing hard rock and ore in underground or surface operations. Its unique technology combines a compact and robust design with high throughputs of up to 8,000 tons per hour. With a 20-55% lower height than conventional primary crushers it is easier to transport, install and maintain, even underground. This helps reducing an operator’s running costs and improves flexibility.
